In a legal bid to prevent the release of the GNR's "GREATEST HITS', GUNS N ROSES was not able to prevent the release of the album.

Axl Rose formed an unlikely alliance with former members Slash and Duff McKagan to try to prevent Geffen from releasing the album, claiming that the alteration of masters without permission constitutes a breach of contract.
